Katie Cotton, Apple's vice president of communications, retires

Add to Flipboard Magazine.
Apple loses one of its great veterans: VP Communications Katie Cotton. The executive has decided to retire after more than 18 years in the Cupertino company with the maximum charge of the press department and dealing with all corporate communications.

The reason is natural after so much time supporting that responsibility: Katie wants to spend more time with their children. An Apple spokesman has told to Re/Code that "truly will miss her," and the same Katie has also said that the decision to withdraw has been the hardest of his career because "Apple is a part of my heart ".

Katie has been in charge of Apple's relationships since the first iMac

Katie has been (under the command of Steve Jobs and Tim Cook later) the creator of how Apple has been associated with the media around the world since the revolution of the first iMac. Secrecy, statements, press releases ... a pillar for the company that now leaves the free position.

It was not immediately known if enter into another company that requires less time, but his successor will be responsible for keeping alive all the secrecy that Tim Cook wants to keep Apple. Good luck, Katie!
