Katie Cotton, Apple's vice president of communications, retires

Add to Flipboard Magazine.
Apple loses one of its great veterans: VP Communications Katie Cotton. The executive has decided to retire after more than 18 years in the Cupertino company with the maximum charge of the press department and dealing with all corporate communications.

The reason is natural after so much time supporting that responsibility: Katie wants to spend more time with their children. An Apple spokesman has told to Re/Code that "truly will miss her," and the same Katie has also said that the decision to withdraw has been the hardest of his career because "Apple is a part of my heart ".

Katie has been in charge of Apple's relationships since the first iMac

Katie has been (under the command of Steve Jobs and Tim Cook later) the creator of how Apple has been associated with the media around the world since the revolution of the first iMac. Secrecy, statements, press releases ... a pillar for the company that now leaves the free position.

It was not immediately known if enter into another company that requires less time, but his successor will be responsible for keeping alive all the secrecy that Tim Cook wants to keep Apple. Good luck, Katie!

Add to Flipboard Magazine.
The event called D in which Steve Jobs and after Tim Cook always have been interviewed by Walt Mossberg and Kara Swisher, now that event is renamed Code Conference (as Walt and Kara now lead the average Re/Code), and this year will be Eddy Cue and Craig Federighi interviewees.

It is not the CEO, but are facing the heads of services and Apple software with years of experience in the company. As Kara Swisher says in Re / Code, the interview will focus on how those services and Apple systems revolve around the mobile world.

The Code Conference will be held from 27 to 29 May in Rancho Palos Verdes, Southern California. Tickets are already sold out, but the tradition remains can see the full video interview the next day and therefore more interesting to know what they have said Eddy and Craig. Both executives will appear on stage on May 28.

This is as serious: Apple looking to hire responsible for future payments platform

Add to Flipboard Magazine.

With both the iWatch rumor and future iPhone, news of a payment platform from Apple had gone into the background. But now from Re/Code, we heard of an active search for product managers and business for a division of mobile payments. What would be coordinating Jennifer Bailey, who takes time directing the e-commerce section of Apple.

According to reports, Apple's ambition in this regard is "very, very serious" and further on the agenda that the talks they had with PayPal. The possibility of buying that rondo Square earlier this month is also a sign that Cupertino have decided to go further with this.

The nearly 600 million iTunes accounts linked to credit cards with funds (and used to make simple purchases of applications and songs) that Apple would have an excellent base to start own shopping system, which linked to TouchID and future devices wearables could make our way to buy change forever. We look forward to the signings that may occur during the year.
