Tribute to Jonathan Ive

"Ive is the most innovative and influential figure of our generation in the field of industrial design. No other designer has done so much to transform the way we view and share information," said Neal Benezra, director of SFMOMA. "SFMOMA was the first museum on the east coast to establish a department of architecture and design and are happy to celebrate the revolutionary achievements Ive"
Neal Benezra is very clear, and that his institution will honor Ive handing the Bay Area Treasure Award, an award that recognizes artists and the creative world leading figures in the area of ​​San Francisco and becoming vice president of design at Apple with names like director George Lucas, painter Wayne Thiebaud or landscape architect Lawrence Halprin.  

Jonathan Ive lived a good point in his career where not stop winning awards. A year ago Ive jumped into the list of the hundred most influential people in the world of Time magazine. The previous year, he flew to London with his entire team to collect the prestigious Design & Arts Direction award when he was still fresh in his memory knighthood by the Queen of England.

It is behind the design of some of the most iconic products from Apple, the MOMA in New York has a collection of six products with its signature: the Mac G4 Cube and precious speakers, subwoofer iSub, iBook, iMac G4 and the first iPod.




Ive collected his award at the ceremony that took place on October 30, but has been quick to show their appreciation to the museum with a brief statement:
"I have always enjoyed my visits to SFMOMA and I think represents the design and contemporary art in an exceptional way. I am very grateful to the museum and proud to be recognized among an impressive list of previous winners."
