Do youemember Word Lens?, the popular translator based on augmented reality was highlighted by Apple in the latest announcement of the iPhone 5S. Well, just a week after the purchase of their creators, Quest Visual, by Google, the app just got entirely free to all.
Caution, Word Lens was one of those payment applications that hide behind the cartel's price free then discover they actually had to pay through a purchase within the app. By default the app only allows access to a demonstration of their ability to recognize texts through the camera and replace it with something else.
A translator of English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Portuguese and Russian works just pointing the camera and without an Internet connection. You never know what can happen with the app in the future, perhaps disappearing to some extent integrated into the Google translate himself and losing his step offline functionality.
