John Harper, the creator of Core Animation signed by Facebook

The entry and exit of personnel in any company is normal. Sure some movements are more important than others, by position held by or for their contributions. The contribution of John Harper was important although many may be a complete stranger. He was responsible for the design and implementation of Core Animation on the iPhone debut in 2007


Now, as announced on Twitter, will join Facebook. Where u watching projects like Paper or Origami will be important for future plans. Of course, as clarified, is not a departure from Apple to go to Facebook. Already had a year out of the Cupertino company.

When a designer, engineer, programmer or any other Apple staff leaving the company I have no doubt that it may be replaced by someone with the same knowledge or even more. The problem is that I fear the culture, the philosophy of the company is losing.

Companies evolve and Apple is no exception but the idea of becoming a company without strong personality that has so far worries me. And their employees give it personality.
