However, there are many users in countries like China where the iPhone people spend after testing Android phones. The phenomenon is repeated switcher, but from another rival.

Apple captured half of U.S. mobile phone activations in Q4, demand still at record high

Record sales of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus propelled Apple to dominance in the smartphone market in the US during the holidays and demand is reaching record levels, the individual reports issued on Friday, so indicate.

One in two mobile phones activated in the US 1 October to 31 December were iPhones, according to a survey by Consumer Intelligence Research Partners 500 buyers. Second Samsung took 26 percent of the market, with South Korean firm LG mate in third place at 11 percent.

Apple's share increased significantly from 28 percent of the company booked in the previous quarter. CIRP attributed the jump to consumers waiting for the iPhone 6 release before buying a new device, a pattern that has been repeated throughout the life of the iPhone.

Samsung comparatively reduced 5 percent sequentially. LG was 8 percent in the same period.

"By every measure, 2014 Apple phone launch was a success," said co-founder Josh Lowitz CIRP a releae. "iPhones took loyal Apple customers, with 86% of buyers upgrading from an iPhone. Samsung and LG saw rates much lower fidelity, with 25% of owners of Samsung and 18% of owners LG that triggered a phone in the neighborhood switch to an iPhone ".

Those numbers look set to continue, as 56 percent of consumers plan to buy a smartphone in the next 90 days said they have an eye on an iPhone. The research firm surveyed 451 Research surveyed 4,126 "mainly Americans" to reach that conclusion.

That number is down from the 71 percent who planned to buy before the release of iPhone 6, but still represents a huge advantage over Samsung, which ranks second with 18 percent of the purchase intention in itself a modest increase 5 percent sequentially. It is the highest level of demand for iPhone at this point in the product cycle from 451 began tracking, the firm said.

Apple's decision to increase the size of the iPhone screen seems to have played a role, with 60 percent of likely buyers saying they prefer a screen size over 5 inches.

According China, Apple would have accepted that the Chinese government inspect their products

Here is one such information for now we have to take with tweezers. According to Beijing News, a means of China, Apple would have given permission for the State Internet Information Office of the Chinese government to inspect iOS devices and Macs have been sold in the country.

The reason: the Chinese administration has been long suspected of Apple products and their safety, claiming that could be the means to spy on members of the government. For this reason it was rumored the prohición buying these devices if you were part of the government, and Tim Cook calmed the community with an open letter in which he said "has ever offered 'backdoors' your software and services to agencies and it never will. Developers at WWDC see signs of public transport in the Apple Maps

Add to Flipboard Magazine.
Although yesterday we told you about the internal problems that Apple is taking the time to include improvements on their maps, it seems that this does not mean that they are stuck. Maps continue to evolve and the proof is an image taken by one of the developers attending WWDC sessions.

During one of the conversations about new features of iOS8 exclusively geared towards developers, one of the slides that showed you could see an iPad with Apple Maps running. At the bottom, along with the different icons you could see a bus, so no need to work hard to imagine that we have prepared Apple.

It seems that Apple is working on one of the most criticized features and that their competitors already have, the different public transport routes within city. If Apple has not made any mention of this during the Keynote is because they would still have a ways to go. See if in fall, during the final presentation of iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite, be mentioned or functionality that we will see in future system upgrades.

Add to Flipboard Magazine.
The Apple TV will grow in prominence even to reach the status of multimedia entertainment center of Apple. There are developers who seem to want this to become a reality, this is the present case with DanceParty.

We play alone or with company, allowing the game shared among multiple players together. It is expected that DanceParty out during the month of July.

Philips begins to deploy its weapons to suit iOS 8

Add to Flipboard Magazine.
Although we still have a long way to go, the truth is that in the past Keynote saw as Apple aims to bring iOS for the iPhone to be the control center of your home. And Philips has already shown its cards slightly to adapt its range of LED bulbs Hue to this new system.

They have shown a picture via his Twitter account as could be integrated into the iOS 8 notification center, as a widget. Until now we had to access the application that controlled our set of bulbs to change any settings on it.
Now, from the notification center we can turn on or off our light bulbs, and even set different sets of lights and then access faster without loading the application. I also like to see options from OSRAM, the automation system is very good value and I think we could offer interesting choices with this new feature of iOS.

Health: all our measures of health in one place

Add to Flipboard Magazine.
The rumors are confirmed. This time Apple has introduced Health, the new place in our iOS devices in which all measures of health we do with our iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad will be stored.

This new application included as standard on iOS, will be accompanied by Healthkit, an environment that will allow developers find that your application is compatible with iOS Health. Thus Apple seeks to unify all health data in one place and third-party applications can access all of our data to make an accurate assessment of our health.

A clear example is Nike +, an application that monitors only our careers but with Health may access data as our weight, our sleep and even the calories you have eaten in the last days. Only have to use third party applications to perform measurements and give permission to Nike + that can use them.

What is "Continuity"?

Add to Flipboard Magazine.
In the mission to further integrate iOS with OS X, Apple has just introduced a new system for sharing applications between iOS and OS X called Continuity at WWDC 2014. With this new system we can share what we are doing to our iOS device and transfer it to your Mac and also vice versa.

Continuity is Apple's way of calling the entire system that has been devised to share the most of our iOS devices with our Mac with OS X Yosemite. Handoff is the system that allows us to share any application on your iPhone and vice versa, for example, if you are writing an email on our iPhone, the Mac will detect it and can finish writing therefrom. The system will also work with Safari, presentations, and any application that offers support for Handoff. Also allow us to have instant Hotspot meter without any password.
Additionally it also introduced integration of SMS and calls with OS X. If we set our iOS device, our SMS will see in iMessage as if it were a normal message. Likewise this compatibility extends to calls, allowing us to use our Mac as a handsfree for our iPhone. This utility also allows you to call people from our Mac to our contact list and call phones we find on the web via Safari, all calls going through our iPhone.

Financial Times: "Apple is preparing its own platform for smart homes"

Add to Flipboard Magazine.
According to the Financial Times, Apple is developing its own platform for smart homes. A system that would use our iPhone, and iOS devices in general, as the control center for our home. Thus being able to turn on lights, control security, appliances and more.

News that sounds powerful, but the options that Apple could be integrated into the operating system itself, rather than what would do. And, today, we have systems through the use of third-party apps that allow us all that through products such as Welmo Belkin, Placed...

But that "Apple style" and the choices that come with iOS 8 which is attractive and exciting. Imagine finally open source Siri for third-party apps with voice commands and control to get home.

The Apple smart home

A platform for the Apple smart home is something important but which responds to actions other manufacturers like Samsung or Google are already taking place. Of course, here, you never know who had thought of before. In order of announcement is clear that Apple is the last to arrive but if we look back we see some movements are now engaging with this alleged new intelligence platform.

First of all would be the new AppleTV settings. As you recall, configured our AppleTV with a simple touch, thanks to our iPhone without entering Apple ID. Then there is the issue of iBeacon, the AS under sleeve iOS 7. With this technology we have seen that you can implement numerous possibilities both in shops, public places or even the home. For example, Placed or MOCA platform.

Continuing, we see now the recent rumor of including NFC in the iPhone. Apple always said not to consider including an immature technology, the fact is that it is very useful and convenient for setting / pair devices with a single touch. So why not use it now. The truth is that the WWDC is a few days and we will focus on iOS and OS X.

Rumors: the myth of iPhone 6

Add to Flipboard Magazine.

One of the effects of large waves is the effect of recoil prior to arrival. Less than a week to get the WWDC2014 Apple rumors are paused and machinery generate stops looking. What we will see on June 2 will be the first official presentation of the company unveiling its plans for new versions of OS X and iOS operating systems, and maybe one more surprise.

However, we are thinking in a year with new generation of iPhone, and exclusive leaks are still slipping through the cracks of the network. Meanwhile, this is what we have:

  • No doubt the iPhone 6 will generate more prototypes generated from the curious. We have already seen, combining everything we "know" so far, different interpretations of how it could be. Now it is the turn to case manufacturers who have created an aluminium model to generate products for the new release, according with MacRumors. And watch out, these leaks have historically never been far from the actual product...
  • Another rumor most commented this past week are the pictures of the possible LED light panel that the new iPhone 6. Apparently, Apple will incorporate the latest in LED technology to thin even more the new model, according to MacRumors would be considerably thinner than the iPhone 5s, for example.
  • This section talked a lot of "how" will be, but we must also assess the affectations of these changes and their impact on iPhone ecosystem. In 9to5Mac published an interesting article on how a larger iPhone will force developers to rethink their applications: iOS is ready for dynamic scaling, however, is the task of the programmers use this space to the fullest, and now seems to have much more that should be better utilized.
  • Another article I liked reading this week is publishing in TechNightOwl on quality control at Apple, and how every little problem is even software level makes them start over the whole process. I think reading it will be very useful to understand that any rumor about Apple security is a process that can not be the fastest, but is intended to be the most accurate.
  • Finally, a very good article by Mark Wilson to FastCoDesign: four myths about Apple, viewed by an ex-designer of the company. Well thought out, realistic and that we should come in handy to read when some fake try to sneak a impossible design: Apple are probably the best, but they are still human. Nothing iPhones with projected holographic display and keyboard...for now.
