iOS 8 has many interesting developments, perhaps one of the most anticipated was Maps, however, nothing has changed since iOS7. Besides the new APIs and some developments in China, Maps in iOS 8 are the same as always. Why?, if it is precisely the aspect of iOS that has received more criticism from the user community.
Not to be pessimistic with improvements to the maps, but Apple could do it better
Apparently, Cupertino had planned to present improvements, but a series of unfortunate coincidences have finally decided not to present anything. Many developers left the company, the related projects were planned poorly and developers who remained had to be changing too often project. Says one source in TechCrunch.
See if purchase of the Spotsetter App, help change that and we can see all the latest in fall.

Philips begins to deploy its weapons to suit iOS 8
Add to Flipboard Magazine.
Although we still have a long way to go, the truth is that in the past Keynote saw as Apple aims to bring iOS for the iPhone to be the control center of your home. And Philips has already shown its cards slightly to adapt its range of LED bulbs Hue to this new system.
They have shown a picture via his Twitter account as could be integrated into the iOS 8 notification center, as a widget. Until now we had to access the application that controlled our set of bulbs to change any settings on it.
Now, from the notification center we can turn on or off our light bulbs, and even set different sets of lights and then access faster without loading the application. I also like to see options from OSRAM, the automation system is very good value and I think we could offer interesting choices with this new feature of iOS.

For you who have not seen the Keynote WWDC2014 video:
Although of course there are opinions for everything, Keynote WWDC 2014 has been anything but lacking in substance: iOS 8, OS X Yosemite, iCloud Drive, Health, HomeKit... A flurry of news it will take to assimilate to its launch general public this fall but which at least we have taken a good step.
If you have not seen the presentation, I recommend watching the video. You will enjoy a good number of really funny moments, taunts competition, and of course, new, many new features.

The App Store is improved with app packs
Add to Flipboard Magazine.
Apple has unveiled at WWDC 2014 new enhancements in the App Store. Trying to improve the way to find new applications, Apple will improve the App Store this fall with quite interesting new features.
Among these new features we found the Explore section, where the App Store will recommend us applications that come closest to our tastes and needs. Additionally, the search will be improved, showing just below suggestions on what we might be looking for as we introduce a search.
These two new features are added three more. On the one hand application packs, where developers can apply several applications to offer with a more competitive price. We will also preview improvements in applications such as videos of them and the ability to offer beta testing their application, thus receiving feedback from their users as they test their application before it goes on sale. These improvements come in the fall and will be available to all developers.

Health: all our measures of health in one place
Add to Flipboard Magazine.
The rumors are confirmed. This time Apple has introduced Health, the new place in our iOS devices in which all measures of health we do with our iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad will be stored.
This new application included as standard on iOS, will be accompanied by Healthkit, an environment that will allow developers find that your application is compatible with iOS Health. Thus Apple seeks to unify all health data in one place and third-party applications can access all of our data to make an accurate assessment of our health.
A clear example is Nike +, an application that monitors only our careers but with Health may access data as our weight, our sleep and even the calories you have eaten in the last days. Only have to use third party applications to perform measurements and give permission to Nike + that can use them.

Apple Introduces iOS 8 (Part three)
Add to Flipboard Magazine.
Widgets and interaction between apps and iOS
We have developments affecting both developers and users, found such things as interesting as the new packages of apps in the App Store to buy several at once at a discounted price, APIs to integrate third-party apps in the Control center as Bing translator or social network we please, or even store documents from any app on services like OneDrive or Box. The Notification Center is reorganized as anticipates raising the Today view, merging all notifications in one tab.
But this is just the tip of the iceberg. iOS 8 puts over 4000 new APIs in the hands of developers. 4000 APIs to apps communicate with each other, to function as extensions in Safari, to use the Touch ID tactile recognition system as the authentication method in their applications.
HomeKit to control locks, lights, cameras, doors and plugs from iPhone even through Siri voice. Metal to reduce the OpenGL load and achieve graphics with a quality never before seen in a mobile device... A genuine advance that will certainly pay off.
Availability
iOS 8 beta is available to developers starting today and will be released for free to all this fall. The only low on the list of supported regarding iOS 7 devices is the iPhone 4, so if you have a you can use the new version without problems:

Apple Introduces iOS 8 (Part one)
Add to Flipboard Magazine.
Following the presentation of Yosemite Apple OS X has also shown another gem, iOS 8, a version that refines everything we had seen so far with iOS 7 further by incorporating a large number of truly useful new features that seem designed to please many of the user's demands.
Continuity, widgets, major improvements to Mail, Safari or iMessajes, more useful than ever Spotlight, iCloud Drive, Health, Family Sharing to share our shopping apps, music, books and movies with up to six family members, advanced editing photography and Photo Stream replacement by a new service that stores all of our images in the cloud without taking up space on the device.
Amazing additions to developers in areas such as fingerprint authentication, high performance 3D graphics and automation thanks to HomeKit, a new platform which incidentally is also integrated with Siri. By the way, we can now turn it without touching anything, just saying "Hey, Siri".
Interactive Notifications
First, interactive notifications, which allow us, for example, respond to a message or an invitation to accept an appointment in Calendar without leaving the app you are currently using. And yes, it also works with the locked device.
Mail, leaner, more powerful
Mail has learned from apps like Sparrow or Clear and now has a new set of gestures to mark a message or delete it. Better yet, if you have ever encountered locked emailing unable to check other mails, anymore: can now drag down the eraser to access any other mail, open it, copy what you want and return to the mail we were writing with another gesture. It is also more intelligent recognizing the content of the emails to add an event from the Confirmation of a reservation and the like.
Direct access to recent contacts

We now turn to the list of recent apps, multitasking view deployed by pressing twice on the home button and happened to also accommodate on its top a list of contacts who have spoken recently. Pressed in any of them we can call, write a message or start a FaceTime video call easily.Ah! And gesturing to the right is our favorite.
Spotlight with steroids
Spotlight has received a major update in OS X Yosemite which is also reflected in iOS 8 allowing access to many of the things we could do with Siri and search the information on Wikipedia or see a movie just starting to write their title. The searches are no longer confined to our own content but extend to the App Store, iTunes, Maps, the latest ...

Apple goes up to fifth place in the Fortune 500 list
Add to Flipboard Magazine.
The Fortune 500 has always been a benchmark valuation for multinationals, and Apple takes much time in it. In 2009 came with the position 71th, in 2012 went up from 35th to 17th, in 2013 jumped to 6th position and now goes to 5th place in the list. But do not confuse this with another recent Fortune 500 list that the medium has made based on feedback from readers.
Fortune highlighted the growing sales of Apple and the pressure of his competition, which has not gone unnoticed despite the health of the company. Nor have put aside and the amount of liquid having the company, $170,900 million; and the acquisition of Beats Audio as the most talked by Cupertino $3,000 million.
Exxon, the company that usually occupies the top spot, has yielded to the retailer Walmart which is now leading the ranking. We will see if Apple releases allow follow at the top of the Fortune 500.

OS X 10.10 Yosemite
Add to Flipboard Magazine.
After the "confirmation" of iOS 8 by Apple, promotional poster hanging in the hall of Moscone Center in San Francisco. And after iOS8, we begin to see the poster of Big Brother. Staff enclosure WWDC 2014 has started to hang the OS X 10.10, also confirming its presentation and giving us clues about its name.
If last year we saw the same poster with a photo of a big wave predicting the name Mavericks, now what we see is a big X with Yosemite National Park in the background. So accustom: OS X Yosemite.
Everything points to the WWDC 2014 keynote will focus the same as last year: software, software and software. Maybe there is some new hardware isolation, but certainly they will focus on the new versions of both Apple platforms. Getting what I call the weekend of impatience, the calm before the storm.

Fewer hours are left for WWDC 2014 is held. Today Tim Cook will start to tell us all the news that Apple has prepared us. We will tell you the little news coming from the Moscone Centre.
Was not a big secret that iOS 8 is going to present in this WWDC, but we did not know what was the style that was to follow the review of the mobile operating system. On the banner you can see a simple 8 with a background that looks like something aquatic, almost like a pool. This picture contrasts enough with which we saw last year with iOS 7 poster which showed a simple colorful background with 7.
Rumors suggest that iOS 8 keep the aesthetics of iOS 7, however such a different banner can lead us to think that Apple have prepared some surprise. There is a very low chance of this happening but hope is the last thing you lose.

Financial Times: "Apple is preparing its own platform for smart homes"
Add to Flipboard Magazine.
According to the Financial Times, Apple is developing its own platform for smart homes. A system that would use our iPhone, and iOS devices in general, as the control center for our home. Thus being able to turn on lights, control security, appliances and more.
News that sounds powerful, but the options that Apple could be integrated into the operating system itself, rather than what would do. And, today, we have systems through the use of third-party apps that allow us all that through products such as Welmo Belkin, Placed...
But that "Apple style" and the choices that come with iOS 8 which is attractive and exciting. Imagine finally open source Siri for third-party apps with voice commands and control to get home.
The Apple smart home
A platform for the Apple smart home is something important but which responds to actions other manufacturers like Samsung or Google are already taking place. Of course, here, you never know who had thought of before. In order of announcement is clear that Apple is the last to arrive but if we look back we see some movements are now engaging with this alleged new intelligence platform.
First of all would be the new AppleTV settings. As you recall, configured our AppleTV with a simple touch, thanks to our iPhone without entering Apple ID. Then there is the issue of iBeacon, the AS under sleeve iOS 7. With this technology we have seen that you can implement numerous possibilities both in shops, public places or even the home. For example, Placed or MOCA platform.
Continuing, we see now the recent rumor of including NFC in the iPhone. Apple always said not to consider including an immature technology, the fact is that it is very useful and convenient for setting / pair devices with a single touch. So why not use it now. The truth is that the WWDC is a few days and we will focus on iOS and OS X.

Podcasts for iOS also updated with enhancements like integration with Siri
Add to Flipboard Magazine.
Said and done. Linking with the release of iTunes 11.2 and improvements in exploring podcasts, Apple has also updated Podcasts, independent app for iOS, adding these and other exciting new features such as integration with Siri Support or CarPlay to access our subscriptions from the screen of a brand new Ferrari FF, for example.
Reproduction of podcasts joins the long list of things we can ask Siri. Just say something like "play podcasts" or directly specified which you want to begin to listen and listen to music.
The settings of the app have also received a necessary restructuring that makes it easier to understand how they work options that previously existed like to automatically delete episodes once played. In general, everything is a little easier now also combining this useful function to optimize our storage with the option to save our favorite episodes.
Ah! I almost forgot. Do you want to share a particular podcast with a friend? Go to their description or slides down their list of episodes to find the Share button. Now you can pass a link to your favorite podcasts via AirDrop.

iPhone 6 ... 1704x960 pixels?
Add to Flipboard Magazine.
All indications are that the next iPhone 6 will see significant changes in the display. It is speculated by the arrival of two models of 4.7 and 5.5 inches.
According to 9to5mac, who refer to sources that are testing the new phone, Apple will use a resolution of 1704x960 pixels in their next phone, strange for conventional world but logic within the Apple ecosystem. Keep the same format including iPhone 5 and 5S, which would imply that the adaptation of applications to the new resolution.
This resolution would be shared with the two phone sizes, 4.7 and 5.5 inches, and would be above 300 dpi that Apple requires to consider a Retina Display screen. They would be 416 and 356 dpi respectively, even above 326 ppi that Apple has been using for the iPhone 4.
It seems that Apple will raise the screen size of the next iPhone 6, and logic tells us that with this increase will also increase the resolution. These 1704x960 pixels fall within the logic, but of course we have to consider having a lot of speculation. Surely in the next WWDC 2014 (2-6 June) it unveil a new feature of iOS 8, and perhaps also with him some new feature of the iPhone 6 is leaking, hopefully confirming many of the things that have been rumored in the recent months. Maybe some new feature of the iPhone 6 is also leaking in the coming days.

Apple and multitasking on iPad: an essential feature despised
Add to Flipboard Magazine.
Today all the blogosphere related to the Apple's world has boomed. Why? Nothing more and nothing less than a delicious rumor from 9to5Mac, where apparently all analysts agree that to point at the next developer conference will witness a new feature in iOS 8: true multitasking for iPad. If so, this would be a milestone in the history of the company, which always opted for a formula so far has been obsolete compared to their rivals.
Towards a true multitasking
The best productivity tool in the day. A statement that is not mine, but rather have heard the many members of Apple repeatedly. With the iPad as the primary device in professional and educational settings, it is certain that the Cupertino company boasts that its tablet is versatile and able to tackle virtually any challenge. With thousands of apps in the App Store and most advanced mobile operating system, it appears that there is room for improvement but nothing further from reality. In post-PC era, if there is something naturally impossible to run a mobile device user, it is multitasking.
Although in iOS 7 has greatly improved the management of applications, especially the visual design of it, we are still far from that users seek. The 9.7 inch screen is more than enough to allow to open multiple applications simultaneously in the same window. Maybe not so much to a similar management OS X or Windows PC desktop, because this is a mobile device. Something equivalent to what we can find in Windows 8. Thus have seen some users as Sam Beckett, who have published their own ideas of how it should be multitasking on iPad with the release of iOS 8.
We will have to wait until the WWDC 2014 to see if we will actually see a real multitasking on the iPad or are simply rumors, although it is clear that the inclusion of this feature in our iPad would have more fans than detractors.
- So far we have not been able to enjoy a true multitasking on iPad, can keep several windows open simultaneously on the screen.
- The best example of true multitasking is found in Windows 8, which can work with two applications simultaneously and share features.

The Apple Store notice a decline in sales waiting WWDC 2014
Add to Flipboard Magazine.
Charlie Wolf, an analyst at Needham has sent investors a fact that reflects what many of you have noticed: a long time without news from Apple, which causes the Apple Store sales decline slightly. It's simple: people are aware that we will soon have renovations and therefore prefer to wait.
The expansion of the iPhone to dealers and other shops also diverts potential customers phenomenon that occurred when Apple wanted to get rid of all stocks iPod distributing it to other establishments. But we are far from the end of the life cycle of the iPhone: there are those who simply prefer we kept the saved money and wait a few more months.
I will not discuss Apple's release schedule, since I am not an expert on markets, and Apple has always been contrary to the wind direction.

EasyPay, the concept of mobile payments with Touch ID we want to see in iOS 8
Add to Flipboard Magazine.
Although it has already begun to explore the world of payments iPhone still has much to evolve. However, due to their expectation, there are many who are beginning to play with the idea that we know.
Now we have spoken several times of Touch ID, security and long-term intention of Apple to turn this feature on a standard payment method in the iPhone. The fact is that while we waiting time, still do not know how it would be, although some authors have decided to step forward with their own concepts.
EasyPay, a very interesting concept
We already know that Apple is working on a method of payment with iPhone. This was the conclusion from the Wall Street Journal and so many have come confirming rumors. In particular, although there are several examples of this, EasyPay define very well what could be the natural way of payment with iPhone, at least in terms of design. Ricardo del Toro, the author, has provisions Dribble a series of sample images of great quality and very well pointing to the conceptualization of the model.

Del Toro's work, both in its design and its staging could well be a great example of the future of payment with iPhone and not surprise us to find authentic and great similarities in the actual function. The concept of del Toro, some partners would be the first to take advantage of this feature, which also have been chosen quite rightly seen as they could directly benefit from a payment system with iPhone.
The reality of payment with iPhone
The truth is that with the possible similarities are actually quite striking. For example, both the design of the application itself as the minimalist, general are very significant, not only for aesthetics, but for functionality. The iPhone payment service should offer a digital account, as shown in the concept, which could not pay in cash. Simply connect and settle and we would have completed the transaction in such small things like coffee.
The idea behind the iPhone payment using Touch ID is quicker and easier everyday payments, creating a new standard in both everyday issues such as shopping features. This has been shown on several occasions since Cupertino, including some Tim Cook's statements. Implementing iBeacons in stores are promoting the increasingly rapid adaptation of these systems via mobile payments. Although the extension is still low, the iPhone is a payment system that promises much, considering the care we left closed ecosystem. So do not be surprised if we see an announcement about it in the months that lie ahead, and if finally we saw a pay official iPhone, not surprise us that looked like the concept of showing EasyPay del Toro.
