Facebook removed Poke and camera apps for iOS

Last Friday we met the withdrawal by his two Facebook apps for iOS. These two applications have gone unnoticed by the App Store. Poke First of all, similar to instant messaging SnapChat has not earned thrill. The other was the Camera app with many effects to our iPhone.

Know? Not much? Well, I think that has been one of the reasons that have disappeared from the App Store. Both were created by the creative team of Facebook, but were not paid much attention, nor were conveniently updated.

Poke was an application that was never important, the number of users that managed to attract was very small and even Zuckerberg acknowledged how little used. Camera was born shortly after the purchase of Instagram by Facebook and we all know who was the queen of photographic applications.

The business model of Facebook

In recent years we have witnessed a series of moves by Facebook which suggest that the company is guided by a team of hysterical chimpanzees, shopping without much sense, phones with Android software layer directed exclusively to use of social network... 

The explanation is simple... Facebook looking for a business model and even if we think we do, is not yet entirely clear. Obviously the potential is there and the network is undeniable, but it is not clear yet how to take real economic return.

More than one billion people are real potential and it shows the number of commercial brands that have a presence in the social network. A perfect channel to live and stay in touch with your customers canal. 

But still have a long way to go, as happened to Google. We have recently seen shopping companies, which then sell for not getting desired results. 

Apple hires Ari Partinen

Ari Partinen, photography expert engineer and one of the leaders in quality PureView Nokia Lumia cameras, has been hired by Apple. He has confirmed himself in a tweet answering someone else about his job change, also saying that start in June. One of the components of the iPhone that Apple cares more is the camera, so the input Ari is another sign of that care for future phone models.

Nokia, in fact, has always boasted of the Lumia in part by the quality of their cameras for night shots and huge resolution that can be drawn. The best example of this is the Nokia 808 PureView, which surprised everyone with a sensor of 41 megapixels.

Ari Partinen has been part of the team that the way to do it. His experience will be welcome in Cupertino, where it should have stopped working to improve their iOS sensors terminals.

Remaining 29 days. The countdown has begun

As every week, rumors around the world do not stop Apple. This time the WWDC, leads some issues as the future of their operating systems and devices such as the presentation of a new iPhone. Therefore, most of speculation, leaks and other data that are centered around. 

1. We start with what could be the iPhone 6. According filtered and displayed by our fellow XatakaMovil images, the prototype iPhone 6 would have a 4.7-inch screen and a redesign that does not attract me much personally ... but as it is have to wait a rumor.

A new terminal that should serve to show the industry that Apple has not changed. Although it will not be easy, the other manufacturers are improving and there are other factors such as price or market saturation. Of course, as we discussed at Xataka Movil, the users of the iPhone 4 and 4s could mark the success of the iPhone 6.

2. More rumors about the iPhone 6 come from Macrumors. There show a mockup of the iPhone 6 created from the rumors and known data, comparing to the Samsung Galaxy S5 in size.

3. The next rumor is about the future of Apple headphones. These could incorporate a biometric sensors to measure heart rate and blood pressure. More inclusion of iBeacon to avoid their loss. And watch out, require connection to port Lightning. Something as discussed in Reddit would be the reason for moving the headphone jack on the bottom of the terminal.

4. The camera would also be revamped with better image stabilization system and a sensor with larger pixel size that would provide higher quality and be more luminous.

5. The rumored iWatch is making an appearance and sources said China Times and G for Games, Apple would already have begun to produce their device in small quantities.

6. If future devices are always something like, what software is really all enjoyed. Because in our current or future iPhone, iPad or Mac software is what will make the difference over other options in the market.

I think OS X will be the core of the WWDC 2014 

WWDC 2014 will focus on OS X, with an update that will as important as iOS 6 to  iOS 7. Publications like 9to5mac or Re / code bet on these ideas and discuss further not see any new hardware. In particular no Apple TV or software for it. Therefore, the operating systems are only the protagonists of an event that indeed is about software.

Apple gains ownership of a patent on a new autofocus system for cameras

This is one of those wars that are win with patent regulators. This is one of those wars that are won with regulators patents. Apple has once again impose its views on a system that will greatly benefit the quality of future cameras iPhones and iPads. The title given to this pantente makes us understand the intentions and what will be the benefits that bring. 

The patent is titled as "MEMS Autofocus actuator". The acronym MEMS means "micro-electrical mechanical systems". The system has been used so far Apple is the VCM (Voice Coil Motor), which in the same patent at hand is represented as a slow system when focus and energy intensive.

The patent indicates that this new system will consume less power, be able to focus faster and also allows the fabrication of smaller devices. But against that item is not exactly simple to manufacture. The patent dates from 2012, its inventor is Richard J. Topliss and even allow us to focus images after shooting. 

Only in Cupertino know if this is a technology that we will see in the next iPhone 6 or later. But such a technology would be well received.

Update Facebook Messenger for iPhone. Improvements for sharing photos and videos

Messenger, the mobile messaging client Facebook for our iPhone, has been updated to version 5 by solving one of its biggest problems: the interface to attach content to the message. Now, Facebook has placed much easier carrying gallery photos, stickers and even the camera to the same area of writing messages.

The new interface for attaching photos and videos saves us navigate many menus and panels

Another novelty is that we can now send videos that are stored on our reel, and also improved the contact tab to search our list of friends.

The interface of the talks remains the same, by Facebook's plans to wean your messaging completely from your main application. I do not know if this strategy is the right one, but I have to say that Facebook Messenger has become one of my favorite messaging client for my iPhone.
