Apple again rely on Samsung as a leading supplier of screens for the iPad

Add to Flipboard Magazine.
The relationship between Apple and Samsung is like that of Romulus and Remus. Together are creating a great empire but both have so much envy and respect, trying to annihilate each other every day. However, as the two brothers who founded Rome need each other and it shows with their decisions. The latest comes from Cupertino and has again chosen Samsung as a supplier of screens for the iPad.

Specifying numbers, Apple has decided that Samsung is the leading 62% of the production of iPad screens, providing to Cupertino more than 5.2 million screen 9.7 inch 2,048 × 1,536 resolution. This increase production again as it was in 2012, put leaves in LG, which was the top supplier of displays for the device until a few months ago.

No official explanation for this change. It may be part of an agreement with Samsung to manufacture new components when the devices that are to come, or just not convinced them deadlines and quality that gave LG so far. Whatever it is, we should not worry about the quality of the produced screens because Samsung is one of the best manufacturers of such hardware exists right now in the world.

Apple gets into debt, but their earnings grow

Add to Flipboard Magazine.

Apple, the largest technology company in the world, this week launched debt securities by $17,000 million, with maturity periods of up to 30 years. The launch was made in response to a demand 5 / 6 times higher ($120,000 million), which offer the markets of Europe, USA and Asia.

The goal of the company founded by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne, is raise funds by $ 90,000 million, to accelerate the purchase of high-tech firms linked to the "cloud". In the last 18 months, Apple bought 24 new startups.

Apple has liquid capital by $ 150,000 million, achieved through record profits for the last 5 years, thanks to sales of iPhones and iPads mainly. Apple bonds have similar yield levels of U.S. Treasury securities. It means that your financing is in large part below the rate of inflation.

Apple is no exception, it is the rule in the U.S. The 1,100 largest companies quoted on Wall Street have $1.23 billion of liquid funds and this record capital increased 15% in the last three years.

In this period (2011-2013), the great American debt capital in the international financial system has tripled, reaching the historical record of $4 billion.

It has never been so high indebtedness of large enterprises of advanced capitalism as at this time in its history, in which your earnings level is high. This paradox coincides with a capital investment of $869,000 million in 2013, and high tech companies have responded by 60% of that total.

The American experience shows that large companies, as they increase the capital stock, indebtedness multiply and deepen the division of labor among transnational production and financial system. The climax is when large companies have to finance their capital to play as a result of a new technological revolution.

The big changes in the production supply are claiming higher level of indebtedness.

There is no predominance of the financial system on production in advanced capitalism. Just the opposite. These successive technological revolutions in the endogenous character production structure, requiring increasing amounts of funding. More than ever, the twenty-first century capitalism is a "mode of production".

The cost of an investment is measured in future productivity (estimated) of the assets in which it invests, not the expected rate of return immediately. Therefore, the cost of capital (interest rate) is not determined by the current level of earnings, but according to the expectations that the new wave of innovation technological-productive.

In the Q1, Apple sold 43.7 million smartphones ($26,000 million) and China amounted to $9,300 million, up from income earned in Europe, Middle East and Africa, added.

In the next two years, 70% / 80% of current Internet users change their mobile devices for the next generation (5S / 6S), especially those under 30, who are 2/3 of them.

The new technological revolution is the combination of two factors: mobile Internet, coupled with free access to the "cloud." Through it, the Internet becomes a virtual avenue, global and instantaneous, in which all human activities in each of its phases, all the time are processed. Financial capital is not the highest stage of capitalism.

The new verse from Apple, Bollywood

A young woman sitting alone at a cafe terrace. An attractive man enters the picture. She looks at him shyly. Seconds later, everyone breaks out singing and dancing extravagantly. Welcome to a typical day Bollywood choreographer Feroz Khan. With imagination and iPad Air, Khan is able to mold virtually every aspect of their epic dance scenes, from finding the perfect outfits and improve until the last rotation gesture and accessories.

The last case study of the campaign "What will your verse?" Apple takes us to Bombay in India to offer a portrait of Feroz Khan, one of the most renowned choreographers in Bollywood, and how it uses the iPad Air in all aspects of their production, from scouting locations to find the best frames for scenes and polish millimeter dances.

Thanks to iPad, Khan has emptied the contents of his bag leaving behind cameras, computers, notebooks, visor ... everything before now needed in his work condensed in 469 grams of weight and in the process gaining the ability to share and enjoy their vision with the director, dancers and production team.

Among the apps that Khan used, we find Artemis HD (preview simulating optical frames to be used in recording), SloPro (slow to study choreography) and FiLMiC Pro (video recording with advanced tools) and functions iOS 7 itself including shared photos in iCloud.

What will your verse? is in my humble opinion one of the best campaigns of recent times Apple and nearly the largest and most memorable in its history. Choosing one of the most exciting pieces of Club Dead Poets Society still remembered by many of us, discover the amazing applications Apple users give their products, and invite us to ourselves we contribute with our verse. Smart, effective, great.

Can Apple create a really cheap iPhone? (1st Part)

Since the launch of iPhone 5c and deception of the public, analysts, bloggers and shareholders about its high price, there is a widespread perception that Apple iPhone could make a really cheap if wanted. But as you want, we have had to settle for an iPhone 5 plastic-coated colors.
-Plastic with a finish and exquisite touch. We must say everything-.

This view on Apple could go into the middle and low market segment as if by magic, in my opinion, at least partly wrong. But I have them all with me. I can think of arguments for both an affirmative answer as a negative to the question in the title of this article.

Why Apple can not make a cheap iPhone (1st Part)

When a company is founded, business model and value chain is created from the first minute. As the years pass and if the company is successful, these two elements are based within nature itself and its rationale. Every day is more optimized, but also makes it difficult to switch these two factors.

Change the business model and the value chain is difficult, very difficult in addition to painful. But it is not impossible. Here we have Microsoft to try to change a business model based on selling licenses to other services and with Office 365 subscriptions. We can also see Adobe make the same change.

Returning to the case of Apple, there are three limitations that I think will prevent creating a cheaper iPhone:

  • iCloud. Why, if there is something Apple criticized what we are unfortunate to have been attempts in the cloud. Falls on the iCloud service, a minimum storage per user account, increases charged to doubloon space, etc.. Not to mention the widespread synchronization falls in the rest of its services and that causes nightmares for developers. It is clear that Apple is not a company born as Google internet. Google lives for internet. Can you imagine millions of users putting more pressure on iCloud? Just cope building data centers throughout North Carolina.
  • The Apple business model focuses on the absolute control of the user experience and in the premium segment, with margins, prices, products, customer service, Apple Stores, materials, and design clients, all premium. Everything Apple does is geared towards that goal. The value chain Apple is ready to turn their premium products, from start to finish, and is not intended for anything else.
  • Production volume. Tim Cook loves to say after each weekend launch of the new iPhone and a smile from ear to ear that of "The demand of the iPhone 5 has been incredible and we are working hard to bring an iPhone 5 in the hands of the so customers want as quickly as possible. "Sorry Tim, but a broken stock is also bad news for Apple. A potential customer can not find what you want at that moment is a client pissed least or a lost customer and will not return in the worst case.
